Sometimes we find incomplete pieces of furniture or pieces of wood, metal, stone that look promising…even inspiring! Once we found a carved coffee table base that had somehow survived life in an obliging field. About the same time we picked up an oval shape base made of rebar that the owner said had held some sort of sink. It was graceful and industrial all at the same time. SOLD. We “reimagined” both of these lovelies at the same time. The top surface of the carved base is made from old sheet metal that had weathered in such a way that it eventually took on the appearance of stone.
